Mornington Tavern (Maybe the Best Pub in the World) is suburban Tavern incorporating a busy family restaurant, The NZ Low & Slow Meat Co and a newly refurbished function venue.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic chef to join our kitchen team.

As you will be an integral part of our team, a great attitude and common sense are a prerequisite. We are looking for someone who has a passion for food, who loves the industry and wants to grow their reputation alongside ours. Candidates with great experience are preferred.

Skills & Experience:

  • Candidates should hold a formal qualification
  • Be able to work under pressure and within a team environment
  • Have the ability to work flexible hours and weekends.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Organise your assigned section and ensure it runs efficiently
    • Ensure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards
    • Prepare and cook all food orders with a sense of urgency
    • Adhere to current food health and hygiene regulations.

      The Chef will be required to work a variation of lunch and dinner shifts within the 7 days a week which we are open.

      This is a permanent position.
