Company:

Our Client is New Zealand's largest concrete operating organisation. They specialise in the manufacturing and distribution of products for drainage, water main, environmental, industrial process and rural applications.

The role:

We are recruiting for a Carpenter/Forklift operator. The role will be split amongst various duties on a daily basis. To give you an idea, your day will be broken up into a number of responsibilities including 25% of your time will involve Carpentry tasks and 75% will involve yard work and operating a forklift.

Carpentry related tasks:

  • Reading plans and drawing specifications, dimensions and installation procedures for moulds.
  • Check moulds against specifications and verifying trueness of structure.
  • Repair existing moulds to minimise wastage.

    Yardman/Forklift operator

    • Operating various forklifts within the yard, re-configuring yard layout.
    • Loading and unloading product on to/off trucks.
    • Assisting other departments (concrete mould, trough bay, engineer teams)

      The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced/qualified builder looking for variety in their day or a highly competent forklift operator with knowledge in the building trade.

      Days & Hours:

      This position is full time Monday - Friday and the working hours are between 6am - 4pm (finish times will be dependent on the workload but hours will be between 45-50 per week). This position will start in a temporary capacity and has the opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.

      Skills and Attributes:

      • You must hold a Full class 1 driver's license. You will either need to have an OSH forklift license with an 'F' endorsement or be in a position to gain this qualification (OneStaff can assist you to gain this)
      • Also you will need to be a qualified carpenter or have a strong knowledge base in carpentry.
      • You will be reliable and hardworking, have impeccable attention to detail and be physically fit.
      • Health and safety conscious, ensuring the safety of yourself and others around you.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

          You will need to pass the following pre-employment screening:
