Looking for a role within the travel industry with one of NZ's largest and most trusted travel brands? This is a fast paced and growing business currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a company with a close knit, supportive team environment that will see you succeed in this role. The purpose of the role is to is planning, winning and implementation of new business activities in order to meet company targets for growth and profitability. Reporting to the Managing Director, the duties of the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Planning pipeline contact and prioritising sales activities with prospective customers
  • Providing weekly reports
  • Building a database on market competitors
  • Maintaining the client database and prospects
  • RFP presentation giving an overall impression of the business
  • Attending networking and commercial functions to develop and enhance business opportunities
  • Assisting with lead generation for the wider business
  • Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings
  • Ensure you have good knowledge of travel issues and trends
  • Providing outstanding customer service to the highest level
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers and business leaders

To be successful we are looking for someone with:

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • The ability to build and grow business networks
  • Previous experience with cold calling and qualifying leads
  • Experience with research and market analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High level of Business and Commercial acumen
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Good listening skills
  • Database management
  • High persuasion and influencing skills
  • A strong knowledge of the travel industry
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
