Our client is a well known heavy vehicle manufacturing company located in Tauranga, in the sunny Bay Of Plenty!  They are in need of a strong and energetic Team Leader for their auto electrical department to start as soon as possible.  

This role will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the Department meets its outputs in a safe and timely manner, while ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and that quality checks are carried out following the client's document controls.  

The ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of heavy vehicle Automotive Electrical Systems and ideally would have knowledge of multiplex wiring systems however additional training can be provided.  

They will also have previous experience in all aspects of staff management and planning for teams between 10 and 20 staff.  

Additional roles and responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:  
* Providing leadership and direction to reporting staff
* Chair daily Tool Box meetings with all of staff
* Ensure staff are trained to a satisfactory standard
* Promote a healthy working environment for department
* Design and Fabrication of wiring installations to specifications
* Perform wiring repairs as needed
* Perform fault finding and rectification
* Complete electrical task sheets
* Formulate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for Electrical tasks
* Implement proactive hazard management
* Accurate, timely reporting and recording of all accidents/incidents
* Monthly Safety Audits
* Ensure Health and Safety legislation is adhered to in all work areas
* Carry out inductions for all new staff to department.
* If required, carry out duties of Emergency Warden  

You will also need to keep abreast and provide advice to Engineering and Management of changing technology including computerization to enable the Client to be the leader in heavy vehicle manufacturing and repairs.
