Job description

The position of the assembly technician will be directly responsible for the manufacture of unique products using specialist skills, tools, machinery and plant in a build-to-order environment. The position is primarily to fit hydraulic and electric systems to unique manufactured products in addition to general finishing tasks.

Responsibilities will also include ensuring all work areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe manner, actively participating in all site health, safety and environmental programs and contributing to continued individual and company development and growth.

Job specific duties

  • Safe and efficient operation of hydraulic test and diagnostic equipment, hydraulic power packs, hydraulic hose fitting press and power cutting equipment
  • Fit hydraulic operating systems
  • Make-to-suit in repair situations
  • Read and understand drawings

    Minimum experience and qualifications

    • High school graduate
    • Ideally with NZCE or other relevant trade qualification
    • Experience in a finishing work shop
    • Good understanding of fabrication, welding and specialist equipment would be an advantage
    • Good understanding of engineering technology
