Job description

  • Coordinate and manage or assist with the implementation of new and updated applications and support their use as required
    • Coordinate with IT colleagues to resolve any issues where needed to ensure positive outcomes and improvements
      • Ensure documentation about the operation and configuration of new systems and applications is accurate and complete
        • Ensure transfer knowledge of new and upgraded applications and systems to the Applications Support person with handover of application/system to BAU
          • Provide third level support to the Applications Support person for requests for assistance with applications.
            • Provide new user, refresher and expert training and guidance for end users so they are competent and able to maximise the use of Council's business applications
              • Prepare and distribute effective training resources for new applications including any associated changes in business processes
                • Work closely with the business to understand training needs and complete training needs assessments
                  • Liaise with Organisational Development & Capability to ensure employees newly appointed to roles know how to use the applications required
                    • Undertake Business Analysis activities including the documentation of business requirements
                      • Undertake solution testing under guidance as required
                        • Proactively shares knowledge within team and with clients on calls through the call management process and the maintenance of documentation.
                          • Provide other support to the IS team as required within your capabilities

                              Required:

                              • Experience in training and transferring skills to colleagues including end users
                                • Applying information systems knowledge with the ability to assist users to resolve their own problems with applications and systems
                                  • Proven relevant industry experience

                                    Desirable:

                                    • Relevant IT tertiary qualification or proven equivalent experience
                                      • Proven ability to work as part of an inspirational team
                                        • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship engagement skills
                                          • A history of being a high performer who consistently delivers agreed performance outcomes and outputs
                                            • An ability to actively facilitate cross organisational and cross functional services and collaboration in a matrix structure
                                              • Strong demonstration of a customer, key account and solutions focus
                                                • Proactive engagement and acceptance of accountability and problem solving
                                                  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
                                                    • An ability to effectively train and mentor colleagues regardless of aptitude and learning styles
                                                      • Proven ability to adapt and deal effectively with changing priorities and requirements
                                                        • Strong attention to detail, high quality standards, and excellent organisational skills
