Job description

You will be part of close knit team who works across the Education Sector in order to bring about positive change for and with the Auckland Schooling network.
Your responsibilities will include improving the quality, integrity and presentation of information used in planning and evaluation of schooling network options in order to bring about change for and with services, schools, providers and communities.

With experience in data analysis (ideally including demographic data) your experience within this area will play a key role in supporting the team to interpret and analyse data with a high degree of accuracy.   Duties will involve:
  • Undertake analysis of demographic data and school roll data from specific catchments across the country.  These can be complex, large data sets.  
  • Identify information needs and develop and implement data collection strategies to meet these.
  • Ability to build a good understanding of the wider environment and trends, from the data provided, and then identify potential opportunities, risks and issues before they arise.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex analytical issues, examine results from a variety of perspectives and presenting them in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Ability to provide support to analysts the our regional offices and work alongside them and for their regions as needed. As an experienced Analyst, you will be an advanced user of Excel, Word Access, Mapinfo for other GIS package, be well versed in undertaking complex analysis and providing accurate information.  You will play a key role in planning for future population growth and the impact of this growth on schools.  
    You will be working in a supportive and highly productive team, as well interacting with a variety of key community groups, therefore strong communication and relationship building skills are key.
