Accounts Assistant


Job description

This busy corporate team are urgently seeking additional support while going through a peak in workflows. This role is responsible for the quick collection of monthly payments and outstanding debtors, so you will need to be confident, polite and resilient in collecting payments. A large part of your day will be spent communicating with customers and collecting payments, so only apply for this role if this is something you enjoy doing.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Understand and maintain financial system processes
  • Debtors/ collections and credit control
  • Monthly billing and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries and accruals
  • Assist with preparation of weekly Payroll
  • Provide financial support on an ad hoc basis
  • Develop opportunities for improvement of financial system processes in a manner
  • Provide full cover/back up to the Accountants

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Accounting qualification with 2 years previous experience in a commercial environment
  • Previous accounts receivable / credit control experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and Excel
  • Used Xero in the past roles
  • Independently able to complete tasks assigned
  • Be a natural problem solver
  • Superior writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and attention to detail
  • Proactiveness with a positive attitude
  • Available to start work immediately
